Two people traveling together can use one hotel reservation for the same room, provided the reservation accurately reflects the guests and stay dates. If both travelers need accommodation evidence, the clearest document names both of them rather than showing only the person who clicked the booking button. You do not need to pretend the couple will occupy separate rooms just to produce two pieces of paperwork. You need one coherent stay that each traveler can connect to their own itinerary.
Imagine Sofia and Daniel planning a week in Lisbon. They arrive together on November 8, stay six nights in one double room and fly out on November 14. Sofia is organizing the documents, while Daniel is paying the reservation service fee. Their accommodation confirmation should still describe the guests who will stay: Sofia and Daniel. A cardholder name or contact email is not a substitute for the guest list.
