A hotel reservation PDF is often easier to save, print and include in an application file, while a confirmation email can be useful because it preserves the original message and links to the booking channel. Neither format is automatically stronger on its own. The important question is whether the underlying reservation is genuine and whether the document clearly shows the property, guests, stay dates and confirmation details requested for your destination.

What the two formats actually do
A confirmation email is the message sent by a hotel or booking provider after a reservation is made. It may contain the reservation number, property address, dates, guest information and links to manage the booking. Some emails also include a voucher or attached PDF.
A PDF is a portable document that keeps the booking details together in a layout that is easy to open on another device or print. It is convenient when you need to upload one file or organise several documents in a folder. But converting an email to PDF does not create a reservation, correct missing details or make an unconfirmed booking genuine.
Think of the email as the original communication and the PDF as a convenient document format. If the email says the booking is still pending, a neatly formatted PDF of that email does not turn it into a confirmed reservation.
