Enter the passenger surname exactly as the reservation displays it. For compound surnames, try the complete stored surname first. Do not enter the full passenger name into a field asking only for last name.
| Common input | What it actually is | Use for airline lookup? |
|---|---|---|
| SD-XXXXXX | SafeDummyTicket order number | No |
| Short airline locator | PNR / booking reference | Yes |
| Long numeric document number | Possible e-ticket number | Only in ticket-number fields |
| Flight number | Scheduled service identifier | No |
A codeshare flight can be sold under one airline's code and operated by another airline. The itinerary may show both. Start with the operating carrier because its Manage Booking system controls the flight operation, then try the marketing carrier if a separate reference is listed.
Do not use a random third-party PNR checker that asks for payment or unrelated identity data. Open the airline's official domain and locate Manage Booking, My Trips or Retrieve Booking.
Airline systems often remove spaces, hyphens or apostrophes when storing names. If the complete surname fails, compare the PDF display and try the joined version shown there. Keep the same letters; do not substitute a different family name.
For a group record, use the surname of a passenger actually attached to that PNR. The email recipient's surname is irrelevant if that person is not a passenger.
Remove accidental spaces before or after the code.
Copy the family name from the itinerary passenger line.
Use its official Manage Booking page.
Codeshares may expose an airline-specific code.
If it worked earlier but no longer does, the temporary record may have expired.
A newly created reservation can pass through a global reservation system and one or more airline systems. The PDF can be generated before every airline website has refreshed its customer-facing lookup. A short delay does not change the passenger or route data.
Retry once after a brief interval rather than refreshing continuously. If the operating carrier uses a separate locator, obtain that code from the itinerary or support instead of repeating the same unsuccessful query.
Temporary reservations are held for a limited period. When the airline releases the record after its ticketing deadline, a PNR that opened earlier can stop opening. Flight schedule changes and partner-airline updates can also alter the customer-facing lookup.
Record when the reservation was delivered and when it was successfully checked. If the intended review is later, activate the reservation closer to that time rather than relying on a record created far in advance.
Send the SD order number, passenger surname, airline page used and the exact message displayed. A screenshot is helpful when it contains no unrelated personal data. This gives support enough information to distinguish an input problem from a carrier-locator or status issue.
Avoid sending payment card details or passwords. Support needs the order and itinerary identifiers, not access to the customer's airline or email account.
When a corrected locator is provided, repeat the lookup on the official carrier page and compare the returned passenger and segment details with the PDF. Successful retrieval is only useful when the record matches the intended route.
Store the final PDF and the working locator together. That produces a clean, repeatable check instead of a collection of screenshots from unsuccessful attempts.
No. Wrong surname formatting, the wrong airline site, a separate codeshare locator, synchronization delay or expiry can all cause a failed lookup.
No. Use the airline booking reference shown on the delivered itinerary.
